Automatic Weather Observation System installations at Chevron onshore and offshore locations

One of the projects I'm most proud of is the installation of Automatic Weather Observation Systems (AWOS) across 13 Chevron onshore and offshore locations in Nigeria. It was a large, high stakes project that required not just technical know how but strong leadership and coordination. From the planning phase down to the final commissioning, I led the team that brought this project to life, ensuring each site was equipped to deliver accurate, real-time weather data for aviation and environmental operations.

Every location came with its own set of challenges. Offshore sites demanded careful logistics, safety planning, and tight coordination with helicopter schedules, while onshore locations required efficient resource allocation to minimize downtime. My role was to keep all these moving parts in sync leading the technical crew, liaising with Chevron's representatives, and making sure every installation met the required standards. It was intense work, but incredibly rewarding to see each system go live one after the other.

Beyond installation, I took responsibility for setting up a structured quarterly inspection and maintenance routine. Weather systems are only as good as their reliability, so this meant planning periodic site visits, carrying out detailed equipment checks, troubleshooting issues before they escalated, and coordinating timely repairs and upgrades. This proactive approach ensured that the systems consistently delivered high quality meteorological data, supporting safe aviation operations and informed decision making on Chevron's sites.

With over 10 years of experience in deploying and maintaining weather observation systems, this project really showcases my ability to blend hands-on technical expertise with leadership and project management. It wasn't just about setting up equipment, it was about building something dependable in some of the most demanding operational environments, and making sure it kept working long after the installation was done.
